Image Color Picker

Upload an image, select a pixel, and copy its color in five useful formats. Your image stays in this browser.

Upload an image

Choose or drop one PNG, JPEG, or WebP image (up to 25 MB and 24 megapixels).

Private by design: the image and selected colors are processed only in this browser and are not uploaded or saved.

Pixel-accurate sampling

Coordinates refer to the original decoded image. Zoom changes only the preview size, not the sampled pixel.

Choose precisely

Use Fit for an overview and higher zoom levels for exact pixel selection. Large previews scroll inside their own area.

Color formats

Alpha-aware images use HEXA, RGBA, HSLA, and HSVA. CMYK is a mathematical screen-color conversion, not a print profile.

Your image stays private

This tool does not send the image to a server or save it in browser storage. Resetting or closing the page releases the temporary image.

What does the Image Color Picker do?

It samples an exact image pixel and reports that color as HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV, and CMYK values, with zoom and a pixel grid for precise selection.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Open an image

Choose a PNG, JPEG, or static WebP file.

  2. 2

    Zoom and point

Move over the image, use the magnified pixel grid, and select the center pixel.

  3. 3

    Copy a value

Review the coordinates and copy the color notation needed by your design or code.

Processing rules and limitations

  • Pixel coordinates

Coordinates refer to the original image, even when the preview is scaled to fit the page.

  • Color conversion

HEX and RGB describe sampled channel values; HSL, HSV, and CMYK are mathematical conversions of the same pixel.

  • Input validation

The file signature and decoded dimensions are checked; animated WebP is not treated as a frame picker.

Images are sampled locally

The image and selected colors stay in browser memory and are not uploaded or saved by this site.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the color differ from another app?

Color profiles, display management, transparency, and rounding can change how converted values are reported.

Can I select a precise pixel on mobile?

Yes. Use zoom and the magnified grid rather than relying only on the scaled preview.

Is CMYK read from the image file?

No. It is a calculated approximation from the sampled RGB pixel, not an embedded print profile value.
