Processing rules and limitations

  • Supported files

Static JPG, PNG, and WebP images are supported, up to 25 MiB each and 20 files. Animated images are rejected.

  • Re-encoding

Pixels are saved into a new image without copying source metadata. JPG/WebP quality and file size can change.

  • Color and orientation

Orientation is applied to pixels. Color profiles are not copied, so color-managed photos can look different.

  • Verification scope

The output container is scanned again, but the tool cannot promise that every unknown proprietary byte format has been identified.

Photos are processed only in this browser

Images, filenames, GPS values, and analysis results are not sent to or stored by the server or an external service. Temporary data disappears when you clear the tool or close the tab.

Frequently asked questions

Will image quality stay identical?

No. Safe removal re-encodes the image, so JPG and WebP quality and size can change.

Does it hide information visible in the photo?

No. Faces, addresses, plates, and document text are pixels and must be masked with the Image Privacy Masking tool.

Are GPS coordinates sent to a map service?

No. GPS detection stays in the current browser and does not call a map or reverse-geocoding service.

Does ‘no metadata found’ guarantee there is none?

It means no known data was found in the supported standards and containers. Unknown proprietary data cannot be ruled out absolutely.
