Image Privacy Masking

Drag to select the parts you want to hide, mask them with a solid block or pixelation, and download. Nothing is sent to a server — everything runs in your browser.

Choose an image

Choose or drop one PNG, JPG, or still WebP. Up to 25 MB and 40 megapixels.

The image is processed only in your browser and is never sent to a server.

What does the Image Privacy Masking do?

It lets you draw and adjust regions over a PNG, JPEG, or static WebP image, cover them with an opaque block or pixelation, and export a new PNG.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Open and inspect the image

Choose an image and identify every name, number, face, or area that should not be shared.

  2. 2

    Add masking regions

Draw regions, move or resize them, and choose an opaque fill or pixelation.

  3. 3

    Review the final image

Use the result preview, confirm every sensitive area is covered, and download the generated PNG.

Processing rules and limitations

  • Manual selection

The current tool does not promise automatic OCR or face detection; the user must identify and verify sensitive areas.

  • Opaque masking is safer

A solid opaque block is recommended for sensitive data because pixelation can sometimes leave recognizable structure.

  • New PNG output

The exported image is rendered as a new PNG and does not retain the original image's EXIF metadata.

Images are edited locally

The source image and masking regions remain in browser memory and are not uploaded or saved by this site.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tool find personal information automatically?

No. Add and verify every region manually before sharing the result.

Can pixelation be reversed?

It can preserve clues from the original pattern. Use a fully opaque fill when the information is sensitive.

Does hiding a region alter my original file?

No. The original file is unchanged; downloading creates a separate PNG result.
